Exploring further with materials to make weird and wonderful creations I tried out simple round the house plastics. The first was an Ikea bin! Below is the result.
What I like about this material is the way it creates a smooth almost hazed effect. The lines also add some dynamic to the images. As you can see there are different tones in each, within Lightroom I wanted to add to the feel of each image. For example, the bottom left looks almost like a scientific test tube human squashed into a jar. So, I gave it a sepia tone reminiscent of the science tubes. This was quite a difficult shoot as the person in the photos is me! Reaching my arm round, taking the photo with the help of a mirror, seeing the results and retrying. The things we do to try out new work! I would really like to try this again in the studio with additional lighting and a model so I have more control of the results.
